Our proposed solution

• 3D dynamic model of hand gestures:

• Arbitrary view-point
• Arbitrary speed, zoom, playback, etc.
• Arbitrary variations of sign language

Possible applications

• Computer animated hand gestures can help learning/teaching sign language.
• Communication with deaf people via computer displays in offices, shops, hospitals, and traffic hints.
• Etc.

Possible future developments

• Building up complete sign-dictionaries.
• Automatic text to sign language translator.
• Integration with speech recognition systems (speech -> text -> sign language).
